We tried KFC for the first time as French People. I was excited and had expectations, watch the video to know how it went... we had tenders chicken and hot wings, the Kentucky burger, and Kream balls snickers.
I rarely eat fast food. KFC was the first time for me today, and I hope you like the experience I share with you.

You should have had the regular recipe chicken on the bone. That is the traditional KFC chicken with the 11 herbs and spices.

The prices you paid were way high, *at least* 50% more than what I would expect around here!
I like the chicken tenders, extra-crispy style; I could eat a completely *full* bucket of them!
I *love* their mashed potatoes, probably because they use quite a bit of butter in them - and I love *love* *LOVE* butter! I didn't see mashed potatoes on the menu, but that might be 'an American thing'. (That's why I love croissants; most recipes call for quite a bit of butter!)
I love KFC's cole-slaw, I think it's the best mass-produced cole-slaw around. I didn't see it there; but again, it might be 'an American thing'.
That sandwich looked *so very* good! The last time I was at KFC I don't think they had it - but that was *3 years* ago, so ... maybe it's new?
Over-all, yeah, for those kind of prices ... probably not really worth it - although, if you *really* liked the Spicy Wings, maybe it's worth stopping in for just those, once a month or so?
Whenever you manage to come to the U.S., maybe the last week before coming here you could try some of the American fast-food places there; then try them over here and compare them 'at home' versus 'in the U.S.'
Also you could try those items that aren't available there, like the cole-slaw, etc.
Oh! The 'too sweet' ice-cream? In case you hadn't heard, we Americans *love* our sweet-stuff! I *am* surprised that they don't have ice-cream with the amount of sugar that Europeans expect. Maybe they're giving you the 'Authentic American Experience'! But in that case, where's the cole-slaw and mashed-potatoes?! I don't understand it.
Very cool video! Too bad you didn't like it more.

When I go to KFC (maybe every other week), I get what they call a "$5 Fill Up."
An Original Recipe chicken breast, a biscuit, mashed potatoes with gravy, an iced tea, and a chocolate chip cookie.
I prefer the Original Recipe because the skin isn't as crunchy, the meat is a little juicier, and it has more spices on it so it has more flavor. It does tend to be a bit messier, though 😁

FrenchTastic: "Feels like I'm eating sugar." Every American: "You are eating sugar." :) Great, and fun reaction. TY!

KFC here in America (in my opinion) is nowhere near as good as it was when I was kid... which was several decades ago. lol

Wow I didn’t realize there were still COVID restrictions in France. Here in Pennsylvania we haven’t had restrictions in several months, or at least if there are everyone decided to stop following them lol. Hopefully the situation in France lightens up!

Excellent video!
I myself don't like fast food that much, but when it comes to crispy chicken I can't help myself. Sometimes it's a bit hard to get the real crispy pieces, unless you come at the right time of preparation. Definitely for the money spent it's not worth it, you can make it home, A LOT BETTER, A LOT CHEAPER AND HEALTHIER. I really prefer cooking than eating at fast food joints.
The menus differ a bit from country to country, but the tenders and hot wings are the way to go, to get your "true US KFC experience".
Anyway awesome job Marie and congrats to your boyfriend on the camera work.
Best wishes to both of you!

Bless your ❤️ ....
The original recipe has more flavor & seasoning than the extra crispy.
If you ever make it to America, and happen to pass thru Kentucky, you will have to try some other regional food :
#1 Burgoo ( aka Road Kill Stew 😊 )
country folk would make a stew with whatever they could find ....
Deer, Rabbit, Squirrel, Opossum, Raccoon ...
But the tamer version is made with chicken & beef.
#2 Lamb Fries : I'll let u Google that one 😊
#3 And last, but not least, the Kentucky Hot Brown sandwich.
Bon Appetit 👍

p.s. Liked the part of the video where you are eating the chicken sandwich and the back ground music 🎶🎵🎶 you are playing is a bluesy 🎺 trumpet version of Piaf's 'La Vie en Rose'.🌹
Très bien 👍

Yea your right...even in Australia it is very expensive....I don't think it is worth the money...in fact it is cheaper to go to a local pub or club and get a full meal that is better for you and in most cases way cheaper.

Bonjour Marie! I'm glad you went and gave KFC a try. While I usually hate when someone says, "You should have done..." I would suggest that if you were to go back to either get some chicken on the bone by the piece, or maybe if they have a 2 or 3 piece option to get that. Try a couple pieces of original recipe, and a couple of extra crispy. The tenders are similar to extra crispy though. I wonder if the wings that you had were original recipe? Since you don't like "spicy hot" I'll recommend to not get the Nashville Hot style. Their new fries are really good., and so is their cole slaw. Passe un bon weekend! ~Be Blessed

I use to work there in the early 80’s for awhile and got to take home left over chicken at the end of the night. I haven’t been there in quite awhile, but I like their chicken and mashed potato bowls.

Another great video Marie. You always do the most interesting videos. I prefer the original recipe chicken. To me that has the most flavor.

I have had KFC here in Australia and in the UK. I have always liked it since first having it in the early 1970s. The closet store to me is in the next town 50km away, so I get to have it as a treat about once a month. If I lived in a bigger town, I would have it once a week. Their chips (french fries) and the quality and freshness of their main items is in my opinion much better than the various major burger and pizza chains. Here in Australia at KFC, a regular size fillet burger, chips and drink is A$8 (5 Euro, US$6), so, similar price to the burger and pizza places. A healthy sandwich or wrap is better for you but more expensive. So, the life choices are health, taste and cost and eat out of make your own.

I like their chicken bowls, with corn and mashed potatoes and their popcorn chicken all mixed together. And of course, sweet iced tea.
