We moved into John 6, but this time connecting the themes we often do not follow past John 6:45, reading from the Tyndale Greek New Testament. Enjoy running exegesis/Greek commentary with theology and apologetics thrown in, hopefully you will find the program to be useful.

I really appreciate you taking the time to make these shorter videos. It helps me to study individual bits from a deeper theological perspective. Thank you... and God bless.

Just to input a little humour into the conversation!
About 5 years ago a missionary from Korea was staying with my wife and I during a furlough from the field. Stated openly about the desire to be an apologist, and had already applied to an overseas university. During our talk about what that entailed, I popped the following question, “ which of these two beliefs will you be an apologist” Arminianism or Calvinism?
The missionary spent two days in deep study!
After the study, proclaimed the following, I think I am a Calminian!
Hope this gives all a little smile!

A few weeks ago, I was banned by Flowers on Twitter for razzing him on his stances in this regard. And I’m a nobody! He’s banning James White devotees simply because we listen to him and refute his faulty logic with Dr. Whites

So Flowers is backing down now because he doesn't wanna stick just to John 6.
He knows hes wrong.

Came to brush up on what we’re gonna get at the upcoming debate in the upcoming debate.

I think the case is pretty cut and dry but I’ll be listening to Flowers as well to get a sense on how he’s going to approach this.

He also emphasized the importance of Daily Bread, that is why He used that analogy and manna as a type. If we do not eat His flesh DAILY, we cannot live, we will die, but our souls will live forever with HIM.

If being "Chosen" simply implies some inflexible determinism...then why did Jesus then ask the disciples " Will ye also go away"?..Was this question simply rhetorical and of no further significance ? Or was it asked with the awareness that, in fact, if they chose to do so, they could "go away'? It would not be the first case of a person (or Nation) being Chosen by God failing to perform the thing which God Chose them to perform.God would then simply find someone else.( ie...Saul - David for example )

This is Sheeps food for the elect sons of God who've been GIVEN ears and eyes to hear and see. The Provisionists who say God's grace is resistable have closed their ears and eyes.

If that was the case why would Jesus not clarify because the Jewish people are confused thinking they have to actually eat his flesh. Why no explanation saying no that is not the case?

Just because "hard (difficult)" and "hard (solid)" are homonyms in English, does that mean that the Greek word for hard (solid/schlero?) also has a Greek homonym that means "difficult?". I am just wondering how this works.

The father giving is metaphorical of a Jewish marriage custom. In Jewish custom the father would select the bride for the son. The son would go to the girl and say "I am going to prepare a house for you". Sound familiar? He would then take a year and build an addition onto his father's house. Then he would go back after a year marry the bride and bring her to the father's house and live.
All the resistance tobJohn 6 is because after 2000 years people think in terms of a white Western European language. They don't understand that the whole Bible is Jewish. All the idioms and metaphors are Jewish or at least of that time and The times before.
They make all these stupid logical conclusions based on white Western English language and understanding.

A bit earlier in the original video Dr. White says "allegori-gesis". At first I thought he'd said "Al-Gore-igesis". With so many new terms developing these days like narcigesis, etc. it's getting hard to keep track!! LOL

James is desperately trying to claim that all who the Father draws come to Jesus. But of all the absolute statements Jesus makes throughout John 6, that statement is nowhere to be found.

Jesus says all who the Father gives will come to him but nowhere does he identify all who the Father gives as all the Father has drawn.

Jesus says none can come to him unless they've been drawn but he doesn't say all that are drawn come.

Jesus says all who hear and learn come but he never says all who are drawn hear and learn.

This one statement, "All who are drawn come, " is the one statement James White needs to be there but it's not found, nor is there a legitimate argument that can be made to support it.

The statement, "All who come to Jesus are drawn" isn't found in the text but it has support through the fact that Jesus stated no man could do so unless they were drawn. Therefore, anyone who comes is necessarily drawn.

No such support can be found for, "All who are drawn come." You can't even say all who hear come because they have to hear AND learn.

I think "you" is always plural in the KJV.

Question If no one will be drawn to him unless the father sends them, and if it is the father's will that all come to repentance, then doesn't that mean, he draws everyone and some simply will resist?

I don't like how Jeff Durbin is a mini slightly more arrogant version of Dr White
