Welcome to Episode 21 of What about it!?

In this Episode, we'll talk about NASA vs. SpaceX and who will be first to set foot on the Moon again. A recent NASA announcement of direct collaboration with SpaceX makes this a very interesting thought experiment. We will also take a look at the latest Starship Starhopper updates in BocaChica Texas!

Will NASA consider Starship as an alternative and will SpaceX be fast enough to meet a 2021 landing on the Moon?

I think we need to be careful with the “NASA vs SpaceX” narrative. SpaceX wouldn’t exist with NASA, both as a customer and a partner, and NASA would be flying a fraction of their current payload flights without SpaceX.

I think the “SLS vs Super Heavy + Starship” comparison is much more apt and supported by activities of both NASA and SpaceX.

Skylab was not the first space station. The Soviets put up Salyut first.

Anyway, really informative video! Thank you for creating such important content!

I'm so glad that Youtube exists so I kind of feel like I can share this fascination with someone lol If it wasn't for that I would probably drive everyone around me nuts

NASA and SpaceX, instead of NASA vs SpaceX. It sounds much more efficient to work together.

Great episode! It gave me a clearer picture of how NASA is working with and helping SpaceX with it's Starship, Raptor engine, etc. programs by use of their test facilities. I've only had a fragmented knowledge of the latest current developments of space hardware and programs. Now after watching this episode I have a much clearer understanding of how everything being developed fits into the big picture of human space travel to the Moon and beyond.

i really appreciate that you put out videos on a consistent basis and always manage to find content. to many other spacetubers out there that tend to go silent for weeks at a time. well done.

Salyut was the first space station, not Skylab. Other than that, great video.

Going back to your old videos, I find it very interesting to see where we were and how far we have come. The 2021 moon landing did not happen, but SLS and Starship have both already launched once and Artemis 1 has already happened. Also SpaceX is preparing for the next Starship launch and things are looking very good!

Hey, just for a small criticism, I’m not sure if this is just me, but when you start throwing out specs and numbers I like them to be on the screen. Kind of like how you made the achievements of NASA and SpaceX. Except, they could be overlayed on animations on the screen already. Honestly not sure if anyone else cares that much lol, but just for some constructive criticism. Also good job on reaching 5k! Can’t wait to see you grow more.

What a great topic. Really enjoyed it. It is incredible that NASA would take so long as they are using proven technology.

OMG...thank you for including Hubble in the list of achievements. You just just saved me from subjecting you to a blistering tirade from a certified Hubble Hugger. LOL!
