The antenna isn't gold plated because it's a digital signal. Only the analog outputs are gold plated, plus the one coaxial input to keep their part count down since it's the same connector as the RCA outputs.

Now there's the new SMSL DO300 and was wondering if it's worth the extra Benjamin? They look identical on their front and rear panels. The internal circuitry is different of course but does it sound a $100 better at the end of the day? I've also been looking at the comparable Topping E70 & E70 Velvet (AKM version). Too many damn choices these

Maybe I overheard it, but you didn't tell us anything about how it differs from the MkI, except for the screen. You even said, you heard them side by side, but you did not elaborate on the results. Did you open it? Did you check, whether they changed any components in the signal path? Thanks.

Can anyone recommend a dac amp stack in the sub 300$ range that would drive a set of probably Klipsch rp bookshelf speakers or the hivi swan diy Amazon bookshelf speakers? I don’t have a ton of money I can invest but I’m obsessed with audio and am trying to get into the DIY scene so I figured a good place to start is a decent stack since ya know..
