This video shows how to test a MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor) using a multimeter. This method can be used on any vehicle with 3-pin connectors.

Sa video na ito, makikita kung paano mag-test ng MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor) gamit ang multimeter.

A MAP sensor measures the amount of air pressure in proportion to the vacuum inside the intake manifold. The pressure is then converted into a voltage signal, which the sensor sends to the car’s computer.

Definitely a man video! No acting, telling stories of the wife going to the grocery store!
Excellent video

This vid is thorough. Thank you. It helped me to diagnose my issue with my Seventh Gen Accord V6 3.0L! Kept getting a P0108 code even after replacing the MAP sensor. I could clear the code, then go for a test drive. Maybe after 5 or 6 miles - and then eventually down to 1 or 2 miles - The CEL would resurface and the car will stall and buck. Turns out it's the connector. It was brittle and the clip was weak... It wasn't holding the connection properly... I figure engine vibration would just eventually work it just lose enough to throw the code again. Just ordered a new connector.

EXCELLENT video! No talking, unless needed AND showing clearly of what you did!

hello after following your tutorial (MAP Sensor Testing Using a Multimeter) I like you, my multimeter indicates more than 2 volts in the signal, engine idling is not bad, my vehicle is a 2007 citroen C4 1.6 HDI, THANKS.

Wow, clever place for a manifold absolute pressure sensor..right in the TB where you'd expect to find something like a Mass Air Flow sensor...hmm, quite quiet indeed

Great video but I'm having a problem with a Suzuki Swift m15a engine. Getting the 5 volts main and ground but with it unplug and ignition on the signal return wire is already reading 4.9 volts and 4.5 volts plugged in. Is this normal? It remains like this also idling meaning I'm getting 4.5 volts at idle.

What bar map sensor is that?
My 3bar map sensor at idle only 0.5volt

FWIW: I had a faulty MAP sensor on my Ford. I bought a new one from Auto Zone and after replacing it the vehicle ran, but ran poorly. I replaced the AZ unit with a Motorcraft unit and the car ran smoothly. Might want to strongly consider buying OEM versus aftermarket.

Bro I need help from Bangladesh, my car is Nissan Sunny X Saloon 2002 model, the car starts after some places then it stops suddenly, it starts again, after giving a lot of help, it cranks and does not start, after taking a rest for a while it starts again. Turns on and off again, please tell me for which purse this happens.

Dear sir, i have suzuki liana and i want to increase fuel MPG by fooling map sensor signal ( reduce the output signal by .1 volt) so will it can improve slightly fuel MPG?

After a EGR delete I regularly get a low circuit boost error (MAP). Since the sensor is OK I assume it is the higher temperature because of missing intake air cooling (EGR delete) under certain conditions in traffic jam. I was wondering to connect reference voltage with a resistor to signal to lift up the reference voltage just a little bit. Any thoughts on that here?

Hi, Thanks for this video. What if the Map sensor readings at idle is 2.5 v and when you rev the engine, it goes to 3.8v is it still ok.Thanks for any response from you
