The Small Faces release their album "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake" to rave reviews. However, an ad promoting the album offends religious freaks who accuse them of sacrilege.

In January 1968 i spent a few hours with the Small Faces in Sydney in January 1968. Steve Played me a Cassette of an Unfinished "Ogdens". I was 17.

It's not "thirty-seven ninths pence", it's "thirty-seven and nine", i.e. 37 shillings and ninepence, or one pound, 12 shillings and ninepence. In pre-decimal (pre-February 1971) currency, there were 12 pence to the shilling, 20 shillings to the pound. Prices were often expressed in shillings perhaps to make them seem cheaper. 37/9 is just under £1.64 in decimal currency or, applying the retail price index to adjust for inflation, just under £39 at March 2022 values.
