what i was in dire need of understanding is what one uses when there isn't a specific value amount on the x axis, such as in this example where it ranges from 0-5. I needed to know that you then find the midpoint to be able to estimate the mean. I don't know why my online class lesson left that important information out or how we were expected to know. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Hi Can someone explain to me why we do not use upper and lower boundaries in the class width? Why isn't the midpoint for the first group 12? Which would make the class width 9.5-14.5.

The data is continuous and in a histogram and is likely grouped and as we can see there is overlap so why do we not take .5 from the boundaries???

I do not understand why for the mean speed you multiply the Frequency Density by the midpoint of the speed. Why is this?

Wouldn't the class width for the first one be 10-15.5?

Didn't it say to estimate, not calculate?
