As someone with crippling anxiety, I’m an expert at overthinking every little thing and imagining every worst case scenario. You can say I've mastered the art of making myself anxious.

As someone who dated someone with severe anxiety, I would fix the notion that the “right” person won’t make you feel anxious or like a burden. Oftentimes, when things are healthy or going well, the person with anxiety can think you’re a playing with them or that they will inevitably mess things up because they can’t sit with peace.

As much as people with anxiety are deserving and capable of loving relationships, don’t set yourself on fire to appease their anxiety if things become unrealistic or one sided. People with anxiety are not selfish by nature, but when their anxiety spikes they can APPEAR as selfish, unempathetic, and even narcissistic because everything becomes centered around them and trying to protect themselves even if it means hurting you unintentionally in the process.

I found myself starting to be distant from my close friends due to ocd, and most of it is negative obsessive thoughts, it’s always a good reminder to me to realize that there are people who really care, and that my friends don’t judge me either way despite how anxious I get, I hope no one has to go through someone telling them to just stop being anxious, because it’s not something that goes away within seconds, it takes time and understanding and no one should be judged for it

Anxiety definitely can make you feel unworthy with someone. Hell…I still feel like I deserve it…

As someone who suffers from anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem, my question is a bit more "meta": Why would anyone who knew I suffered from these things want to date me *at all*, when they could just as easily date someone who doesn't have these issues?

I'll be honest, I suspect that putting up with somebody that has my level of psychological damage would not be easy. I wouldn't think less of anyone for not wanting to deal with it.

as a man who hasn't tried dating in any way for over 10 years and am now trying, I am only too aware of how anxious I am so this video helped me, thank you. In the case of my anxiety, I understand that where I want to be happy, I've been letting my anxiety hold me back and I can't do that anymore.

It reminds me of something a friend once said that not only makes perfect sense but something I feel I may have forgotten.

"There is no growth in my comfort zone and there is no comfort in my growth zone".

I would love to see more on topics like this. Being in a relationship with someone suffering from various health issues (mental or physical) can be difficult at times.

I'm so glad I've found it before my girlfriend and I reunion. She had serious anxiety. Even though I tried to soothe her all the time, she ended up being confined to a mental hospital. I was dying with the guilt that I couldn't do anything helpful for her and that I couldn't change the whole situation since we were in a long-distance relationship. Whenever she comes back, I wanna make sure that I observe all of the tips this video gave me. I hope I can be her remedy and she'll feel happy ever again. Thanks for the tips, sincerely.

I recently had a partner for a short time who made me so anxious and even though I tried to talk with him he kept dismissing my feelings as “stop sayig you’re sensitive and using it as an excuse”. I tried to be self aware and wanted him to comfort me but he said it was my issue to deal with. I dealt with it, by breaking up.

I deal with anxiety everyday. I hate it when it destructs my plans and I feel like a burden when I let it get the best of me infront of others. Thanks for the video. Will share it.

Always remember that people struggle in different types of ways. So they may actually be masking their anxiety. Never judge a person for that! Always be kind.

This actually helps a lot as I am with someone who has anxiety. They’re amazing in every way but just very anxious all the time. And to every other person with anxiety, you’re not a burden, you’re a gift to anyone who meets you.
