I remember when the fear of anthrax mail was real. After 9/11 the mail was tampered with, and dangerous. That's when the post office started cutting little holes in the envelopes to verify it was safe. It saved lives.

"Prince Albert in a Can"

The fire team faces a situation involving what they believe is a biological weapon. The women is a government figure and thought the envelope and flowers to be from Owen (fire captain) after opening it dust flies in her face and its assumed to be a deadly biological weapon.

To contain the possible danger, the team has everyone frommthe buikding checked and questions (mainly the FBIs job)

The situation is tense, as everyone believes they’re dealing with a serious biohazard. However, it’s later revealed that the powder wasn’t actually dangerous—it was filled with harmless corn starch as part of a prank from someone who didn't like the women.

The man's symptoms with the bloody nose were from a seperate issue that just happened to go on at the same time. The person who sent the dealy letter are never found sadly. Everyone is okay, and safe.

At the end of the episode, the governor and Owen both go to their home to fine a dead pig in their bed for Owen, a message in blood that reads 'TOXIC PIG!" above the bed.

The women comments ""It looks like I’m not the only one with enemies, ” and the episode ends there.

I worked at the Post Office during the anthrax scare. Thankfully i worked in a small town so the likelihood of coming across it was minimal but it was still scary.

There was an episode of NCIS where Tony got infected with a genetically altered version of the Plague, it got in through a letter that was "Sealed With a Kiss" and sent to him at NCIS headquarters, he almost died but did eventually make a full recovery with only some lung scarring.

Cornstarch does not mean immediately take off protective gear, the guy with the nosebleed still gives me a little warning that something could still be going on.

The fire department wouldn't have hazmat outfits like that . Only specialized units are outfitted with those . Normally a trained materials unit or biological unit would have them since it requires specialized training to wear.
