Citroen is launching the C3 – their first mass-market product in the Indian market – on July 20. The carmaker calls it a "hatchback with a twist", and it will likely rival high-riding hatchbacks like the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and lower-end compact SUVs like the Renault Kiger, Tata Punch and the Nissan Magnite.

Citroen is hinting at an aggressive price tag for their newest model. At launch, the car will be available in two trims – Live and Feel. Its engine options include a 82hp, 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated (NA) petrol unit and a 110hp, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol.

There are two things to note here. One, while the higher Feel variant does get you premium features like a 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it misses out on quite a few basics, like a rear windscreen wiper and defogger, powered wing mirror adjustment, a day/night mirror, a tachometer and a central lock/unlock button for the doors. Secondly, the lower Live model feels seriously stripped out in comparison, ditching things like LED running lights, exterior black plastic cladding, the passenger sun visor, rear power windows, USB chargers, the touchscreen, and even the audio system.
