I love these so much! I've been kicking my feet about adding deco spiral staircases to my builds because if it's only for the background of a picture, I just...don't see the point. Maybe for a render, but not for a build. But this would actually mean I wouldn't have to take up space with a second staircase.

Also, I have to say this. I feel that asking a modder to make an entirely new animation and code it to that specific object is...well, let's just say it seems like a lot of people don't understand that not only is modding hard, time intensive and technical, but there are a lot of different areas of expertise and "cloning an object and making a different mesh that then behaves like that object", no matter how difficult, is not the same skillset as "and then animating *every different Sim frame/age combination separately* to go up and down three or four different widths and spiral tightnesses of stairs and then coding it to this object to make it more realistic".

If all Sybou did was animate, that might be one thing, but someone who makes beautiful architecture isn't, probably, also an animator, nor do they probably have any software designed to make it easier (you can make animations on Blender, and people do, but most of them aren't designed for in-game trigger). Remember that these people aren't being paid, they're doing this over hours and hours of free time and giving it away to us for free with only donations, and to disparage a really cool mod because it doesn't give us something that EA/Maxis hasn't even figured out or bothered to allocate the time to give us only leads to modders getting disheartened and feeling their time isn't valued.

Instead of being teleported, I hope in the future, the moder adding the actual animation of sim using the staircase

OMG....I have been waiting for this for years. Every time I plan I want spiral stairs. It is the one thing from previous games that I have missed the most. Leave it to content creators to figure out how to do it. Thank you so much for this video.

I just started playing Sims 4. I've played Sims 3 since 2016 and I love to build CC houses for my "families" I just found out about the spiral staircase and I was having a hard time trying to figure out how to use them. I didn't see the piece to open up the holes at the top of the staircases and was going nuts. Also about the portal thing. Thank you so so much for explaining it easily enough for an old grandma to comprehend.

Thanks for highlighting these Kate. They look great and once again it's modders doing what the devs won't.
My one and only mild complaint is that I didn't see any options for the spiral or U-stairs going the opposite way. That would be particularly useful to me in one of my older builds. They're still fantastic though.
