Ευχαριστώ πάρα πολύ για το βίντεο σου!! My wife and I experienced a sunrise from our Airbnb a few weeks ago in Pefka, near Lavrio on the east coast. Waking up by the ocean with an early morning stillness is irreplaceable, especially in Greece. Thankfully my family lives near Athens; not everyone has that and your reminder of knowing your blessings and living with gratitude is powerful. Your wisdom knows no bounds, my friend. Hellos once again from Calgary! Thank you for being your unfiltered self as always.

Really love you’re vlogs, we are going to be there next year as part of our travels, the birds you see every morning are swifts, and the English version of a small lighthouse is a beacon 😎and if you are at that sunrise every day then I’m sure to meet you 😎

The lighthouse was built on the island of Faros. The island gave its name to the building and not the opposite, as is believed.

The Lighthouse of Alexandria is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It was built in the 3rd century BC. by the architect Sostratos. It remained in operation until its complete destruction by two earthquakes in the 14th century AD. It was a tower with a total height of 140 meters and was for that time the tallest human structure in the world after the pyramids of Cheops and Chephren. It was built from pieces of white stone and was structured in four levels. The lowest was the square base, the second was a square building, the third an octagonal building and the fourth highest a circular building on the top of which was the statue of Poseidon or Apollo. On the fourth level was a mirror that reflected sunlight during the day while at night a flame burned to warn passing ships of obstacles. The word lighthouse was adopted by many countries and was widely used in the Latin vocabulary and in languages such as French (phare), Italian (faro), Portuguese (farol) and Spanish (faro).

I love Mr. Dimitris. He should have his own youtube channel.

Seeing the cats playing in the background was a very charming Greek moment. Greece is a tough place to be a rodent!

Just watching this vid. Very interesting. I too get up early; brought up on a farm. Love, adore, the rising sun! Swimming as Helios rises is so magical sharing it with some locals. I remember a few times when a Greek referred to me as a wanker, in Greek, even though I had had no interaction with them. Human nature to be negative sometimes. Try saying: δείξε λίγο σεβασμό, γιατί σε σέβομαι! Which is just saying please show me some respect as I respect you. It usually works. Some people are bullies. Have fun.😅

Native Greek here (living in the UK). Don't mind K. Dimitris not liking the fact you are filming him. This is a very traditional preoccupation of Greek people, especially older generations. I was very much into photography round 2010, and people would give me the weirdest reactions when I was out doing street photography. They used to think I would do something, publicise the photos and then they would be targeted by bad people... It was so difficult to explain the situation to them... Some would even think I worked with the police... Greeks of older generations do not want to be fakelomenos/fakelomenoi... Maybe ask your wife to explain the term better... Crazy times... It was difficult even for me to understand... Everybody was afraid of their photo appearing on the newspapers... Go figure.... Keep going, you are doing great...

Daniel, "Νικολακης" in Greece has a second meaning. The person that is new to a situation.

I find your video is nice, but cant help but comment that you show mr Dimitris again (although I guess they are old shots already shared), so its almost the same as if you filmed him again. In my opinion you shouldnt
