How to make a Gumpaste / Sugar Sunflower Tutorial

Hi and welcome back to my kitchen. As summer is here, for this weeks cake decorating video tutorial I am going to show you how to make a realistic looking gumpaste / sugar sunflower which is perfect to add to your summer wedding or birthday cakes.

In the tutorial I show you step by step how to model all the gumpaste petals and create the center of the flower. When making your flower you will need to make 40 individual petals.

I am so happy to have found your channel. Today is my sister's birthday. Sunflowers were her absolute favorite flower. She went into cardiac arrest on her 53rd birthday two years ago and died 5 days later. My older sister and I celebrate her life with sunflowers every year! I'm making a sugar bouquet and this is perfect! The only mod I'm going to try is wrapping a disc of floral foam in a layer of brown fondant to reduce the weight of the center. You're so skilled! Love your videos!
