I can tell he hates the clapping. At 0:40 he smiles as the clapping gets louder. At 0:50 he looks at his band mates smiling, probably because they know how much he hates it. I imagine him saying "if I wanting clapping in the song, I would've put it in there." At 0:52 he cringes and rolls his eyes at 0:55.
I don't blame him.

I cannot stop watching this video. I just returned from a trip to Vienna and walked aimlessly around the city with this on repeat. One of their best performances of this song and I'm so glad it exists on video. I would do anything to be there. The way he is so intimately lost in the log at 2:15 and in his own world. The held note there is one of my favorite vocal moments of any artist of all time. It's brilliant.
