Reminds me of my childhood bestie Michelle, who I met in 7th grade middle school. We're still best friends decades later, now 40 yrs old with kids of our own. We used to love this album/Radiohead & still do. I'm so glad her family moved to my town all those years ago. If it wasn't for her, my preteen/teen years would have never been the same!💕

In an interview, Thom Yorke claimed that “Fake Plastic Trees” (1995) was the piece where he found his lyrical voice. He cut the vocal, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, IN ONE TAKE, after which his bandmates filled in their parts around him.

God, I’m 14, feeling all these new feelings. Had just had my first ‘sleepover’ with a guy. On the way back home I already felt the confusion of adolescence-should I have done that, did I do it right, should I call him, why hasn’t he called me? The euphoria (and let’s face it, the relief) of haven gotten over that hurdle. The wonderful joy and bitterness to come. It’s so beautifully reflected in this song and will forever be a time capsule for those feelings for the rest of my life. Thank you Radiohead for always ❤
