Thanks for sharing Lok! Alot of fun watching your videos and listening to your advice - hence why I also have been using the S5ii. The luts are actually rather decent for photography as well.

Great interesting video Lok! I may steal your idea and do similar video one day haha
I remember you suggested that little Manfrotto tripod many years ago and I bought one myself it's a cool little gadget!
Thought you would mention the Accsson as well that's a nice gadget too.
Happy New Year to you and your family ! (it's 30th Dec here in NZ already)

This video breaking down stuff you actually use is awesome. I'd say a couple of things you guys recommended that I absolutely love are Billingham bags as they are not exactly really big in the US. So I never really even heard of them before. And then the cob lights from small rig. I always love your tech reviews.

I've been using that Manfrotto Pocket Tripod ever since I first saw you mention it - love that little thing. I actually ended up pairing mine with a quick-release clamp so I don't have to remove the arca plate from my camera. The downside is that I've gradually been balancing my camera in more and more dodgy ways and I blame you for that 😆

One of the best things about the Panasonic S5II is the price and particularly the multi lens deals they have from time to time. I don't know why other manufactures dont do it? particularly in the 1-2.5 K price range where the first serious camera budget tends to be, It really locks you in to the system because to replace it, should you want to jump ship to another brand you have to factor in the lenses into the replacement costs.

Greatest and most practical video you made in 2024. Thank you 🙏

Might be an idea to do a video, where if money was limited, and you had to pare it down to the absolute basics, what the setup would be.

lok im curious what you actually bought yourself? I know you sometimes edit on your 2017 macbook pro... how is that? If you could do a video of what you actually bought or will buy.... would be awesome!! Thanks for the upload

Is "one big screen" good for video editing? I'm still learning more advanced features gradually over time, and wonder if two (or more) would add value? Currently using a 1440p but looking at swapping it for a 4k or higher.

Also I can't help see Apple's use of aluminium as looking cheap, due to the similar looking painted plastic devices from around 20 years ago. Or is that just showing my age? Matte black plastic is best as it is practically invisible. I want to see the content on the display, nothing else.

I know you love Panasonic. I've never tried a new ish one and i honestly want to try one. I only do photography and have thought about the s1r more than a few times

How Panasonic mess up the S9 with questional pricing & poor PR coup and manage to fix some S5 limitation bogles me. Hope they get the synergy right and give us a small m43 to compete with xm5.😊

Speaking of monitors: I was looking for a similar monitor from Apple Studio with nano texture and found one from Samsung. The model name is Samsung ViewFinity S9 S27C902PAU, 27". The specifications are very similar, but the technical design is not, of course. Samsung uses an external power supply, Apple does not. The speakers are probably positioned slightly differently, maybe even different. The camera is not built into the housing of the Samsung. Samsung does not come with a glossy screen surface and it is between 700 and 1000 euros cheaper.
So why get Apple?

EVERY VIDEO TECH REVIEWER NEEDS TO MAKE THIS VIDEO. I'm sick and tired of being sold to on YouTube. It's a glorified Home Shopping Network. None of the YouTubers use the gear they try to get a kickback from through affiliate links. It's greasy. Plain and simple.
