Driving with a driving instructor is great because they know exactly what to teach you. But should you also practice outside lessons and what are the rules?

I certainly found it very helpful when I was a learner! And I am still practicing as a fully qualified driver! I just want to keep improving! 😊❤

Makes a massive difference. When I learned my mum and instructor would talk to each other about how my lesson went and what I needed to work on or to keep reminding me to do. Saying that my mum wasn't shouting so it worked. Where someone else I know his dad was all shouting and he took longer to learn. So the person has to have the correct temperament. If something is going wrong or you are getting anxious they need to stay calm. So you then relax

One thing I found out is that you need L plates clearly displayed on your car too.

I'm a late learned and I got my car last week, I've been out in it a few times (with my girlfriend) and honestly, it's been super handy being able to gain more experience and practice stuff I know's coming up in my lessons - my instructor has said he'll help 'correct' any bad habits I might've picked up, but if anyone's fortunate enough to have people around them, I'd 100% recommend learning with someone else

What about if you don't have anyone else's car to use? My parents have a mobility car and I'm not allowed to be insured as a learner on it. I have no family members and my friends parents drive manual and Im learning auto cos of neurodiversity.
