A panel of experts addressed what they believe the future holds for cryptocurrencies and they largely agreed authorities must be careful attempting to regulate the mar-ket.
Nick Spanos, Founder of the Bitcoin Centre in New York City, said governments should take a hands-off attitude as it was not possible to regulate cryptocurrency in the same way real-work currencies are.

The increase in the value of cryptocurrencies was due in part to greater awareness among investors who believe they can make a profit. Regulators must strike a balance between creating a safe environment for trading but not becoming too stringent so that exchanges move to less regulated markets, said Jesse Powell, Founder and CEO at Kraken Bitcoin Exchange. The majority of the panel felt cryptocurrencies would continue to thrive in the coming year.
