Thanks for watching everybody! If I was to do this again which band should I make heavier? :)

The title should be “if Metallica wrote doom eternal’s soundtrack” instead

To be honest when I saw "in the style of modern metal" I thought it was going to be all palm mute break downs and open drop F strings.

Not even gonna lie, I want full versions

It really shows you how amazing the original riffs were!

Enter sandman almost sounds like something Trivium would write

Play modern metal as 80's metal. My old ears might like that better!

Those thrash band rhythm guitarists had some magic going on in the 80's. There's just something about great riffs in E. The chugging on the E, or a galloping riff..they just have that attack you get from the pick. I think it's a sign of a great metal rhythm guitarist, someone that can make riffs that melt your face in standard tuning. Fuel sounded like Invisble Kid from St. Anger

The pedaling verse riff for Master of Puppets was way more sick than I was anticipating.

Harvester of Sorrow reminded me of Slipknot meets Sepultura, The Thing that should not be sounded like Gojira. Loved it!!!

I listened to the Thing that Should Not Be adaptation several times over, and honestly, until the last few chords at 1:11, I can't even recognize it as the same song.

now we know how good the 80"s was for all man kind

This was cool but ironically it sounded less heavy. More modern, sure but also less impactful.

I am still amazed how heavy the album And Justice For All sounds in E'.

your playing is excellent. but with that being said, this is proof that tuning down doesn't make a song heavy. the original harvester of sorrow is still heavier and groovier, it simply cannot be improved from the original

Not saying that these versions are better than the originals, but goddamn I'd be lying if i said i didn't wanna hear all of these with full length covers because they fucking deserve it.

I could really do with a full version of Harvester of Sorrow.

Honestly this just makes me realize how poor the riffs in actual modern metal bands are in comparison haha

That was some riff adaptations... I now desperately want these reimaginings to be made into full songs, complete with low growling vocals...

i honestly dont really care for tunings this low but i do like how the riffs have been reworked to give them far more bounce so it actually works with this style. i dont like how "modern metal" is used as a catch-all for metal released after the 00s bc there are still old school style thrash records being released in the modern day. not all "modern" metal is fucking djent
