The way james turns those piano melodies into riffs shows why he's the goat of riffs.

40+ years in and one can't help but still be amazed at Metallica's ability to take other artists' songs and make them uniquely their own. This is simply great.

You know you're doing a good job when Elton and Bernie are singing along to their own song!

Sometimes I think Metallica's level of musicianship doesn’t get the recognition it deserves . Not many other current bands would be able to preform a cover with this level of dexterity.

Imagine Elton being one of your idols... and your band is called upon to perform at a show to honour him. After he already called one of your songs one of the best ever written.
Must've been surreal for them. And Elton was obviously loving it, singing and clapping along.

I feel bad for Thrash fans who never enjoyed Metallicas real side. Imagine being that Miserable you think people enjoying Music is selling out... Metallica is Pure Soul!

The evolution of Metallica is nothing short of miraculous. I wish some people respected that growth more. They are not just the best metal band on the planet, they are the best band full stop. This arrangement and performance is incredible. James looks so happy and Sir Elton and Bernie were thrilled!

That folks, is how music is supposed to be done. Real music performed by real musicians.

When Kirk starts playing the guitar part after James’s “all right!” at 2:03 gives me chills. I think I’ve watched this video every day since it’s come out.

I'm sorry....how tight is this band? Anyone who says they peaked in 91 is wrong. They are on fire!!

I'm blown away. This was just masterful. To cover a song like that and make it their own is a real true art. The piano parts played on guitar are cool. Metallica doesn't do shitty cover songs. When they cover a song, it becomes a Metallica song. If there is one thing they are underappreciated for, it is their ability to do stuff like this. I can't think of a single other metal band that would even consider doing something like this. Metallica killed it, and you could see they were having fun doing it.

Do you remember how happy James was, when Elton John said Nothing Else Matters is one of the best songs ever written? I bet when they were asked to perform for him Metallica jumped at the opportunity.
