Man wrongfully accused of murder spent 28 years in prison, now free

Jose Cruz, who was wrongfully convicted of murder, was in prison for over 28 years. The case is connected to ex-Chicago Police Det. Reynaldo Guevara.

If someone offered YOU 1 million dollars a year, but you HAD to serve 'at least' 25 yrs in prison... would you do it???
The people who were involved in taking half this man's life away should have to spend the same amount of time in prison.

It has always baffled me why so many people, jurors, choose to give more credibility to police when they know that lying and deception are fundamental tools of their trade? I suppose it’s the plight of a society that’s built on “belief” or fantastical thinking, aka religion, rather than education and critical thinking skills. A great anecdote for why the jury system doesn’t work nor serve us well, at least in its current incarnation.
