Such a great video! While I understand the difference between the two and what they are, it's difficult to put into words to explain it so thank you very much!

Thanks Dr Anne, fabulous video! I have experienced both, oh joy. PIE due to cystic acne decades ago (faded after years), used laser at a dr’s to treat it 15 years ago, not due to acne this time (recommend given immediacy, safety & result which has lasted years). For PIH anti oxidant (vit C) & retin A use has been most effective. Vit C had greatest immediate effect (but there was painful learning curve initially, do research & go slow is my motto now lol!!)

Hello doctor Anne, would you recommend the use of pimple patches (as well as treating the underlying acne in all the other ways)? This was a super informative video, so thank you very much!

Hello! I know diy skincare is a big no but can you make a homemade lip scrub? Out of 1 teaspoon honey and 2 teaspoons sugar? Or replacing honey with olive oil? I don’t know but I really need a lip scrub and there super expensive so I’m wondering if that’s something you could diy? Or if there’s any lip scrubbing tools that would last longer then an actual product? Thank you! I also wanted to thank you for always replying to my comments, you are one of the only channels who does and I greatly appreciate it!

hi doctor anne, you mentioned retinols, does tretinoin fall into this category? PIE has truly been the worse for me, I now never have more than one or two lesions on my face, but there are many flat red dots.. it is so frustrating. I was on adapalene for 5 months and it got a little better but switched to tretinoin last month. It is really helping, and I do think my PIE is fading, but slowly...

I appreciate you being so active in the comment section.
Is it possible digestive problems could cause acne/red spots? Or at least have a correlation? Last year I started having digestive issues (I was recently diagnosed with chronic gastritis) and I also started having problems with my skin for the first time ever. I don't think I have a lot of acne but each one seems to leave a red spot that lasts for more than half an year and can rarely end in a small dented scar. Is it possible that treating my gastritis would also help with my skin?

Thank you for explaining the differences between the 2. I realize I have PIE. I've had IPL 3 times already and it didn't even make a dent. What type of laser is best for PIE?

Hello Doctor Anne. I always follow your videos religiously as they are really informative. I have a question and I think you are the best person to answer it perfectly. Could you please tell me if retinoid and collagen can be paired together along with tri peptides like matrixyl? Also, can collagen or peptides be paired together with vitamin c as well? Looking forward to your prompt response. Thanks in advance, love from India ❤
