The Mentaling Device is a 1950s-inspired Science Fiction short film. It is black and white and shot wide like Cinemascope. It features classic science fiction themes like mad scientists, technology gone awry, communism, and the Cold War.

This film stars Dr. Mike Bolling as Dr. Frederick "Fritz" Lang, Miguel Lujano as Emilio Fernandez, Juan Baptista as Luis Bunuel, Scott Long as Henry Hathaway, Bradley Catoe as George Waggner, and Alan Vander Schouw as Andrei Tarkovsky. Sound is by Joel Lutuangu, miniatures are done by Everett Harvey, and makeup is done by Candice Nance. This film was written, edited, and directed by Adam Nannini.

Mike Bolling's acting here is a tour de force! Why major studios are not breaking down his door is a wonder of the modern age. I have to say though, he looks a bit "stiff necked" in a few scenes. I was riveted. Waiting on the sequel.

Scott Long's acting seems a bit strained...which may explain why he looks like his laxative just kicked in during his death scene.
