Parkland mother calls out Nikolas Cruz for using mask to hide facial expressions

Jennifer Guttenberg, the mother of Parkland murder victim Jaime Guttenberg, called out Nikolas Cruz during victim impact statements for wearing his mask and hiding his facial expressions when the families were speaking to them. Cruz then took his mask off and looked at her as she was speaking.

She is ENTIRELY correct when she says, "...lowered down in your seat, hunched over, trying to make yourself look innocent when you're not, " because at times I almost DID feel bad for him having to listen to all these families tell him how much the world hates him. That would be a difficult thing for me to have to listen to myself because I'd feel like a total POS, which he IS. I'd have to remind myself of what he did because it's terrifying when you start to feel bad for a murderer! I won't lie though, Mr. Oliver (Joaquin's dad) had one of the most powerful impact statements. I felt his deep pain and absolute hatred for this POS!

These families have been victims for over 4 years and they still show more class and decorum than could EVER be expected of them- my heart hurts for them and yet am so proud of the foundations and legacies they have created. ❤😢

What an incredible respect I feel for each one of the families affected. They show such incredible respect and I can not imagine the anger, the pain, the frustration they have all gone through. Hope the best for each one of the families.

Being from the UK I as many others were unaware of this atrocity. But the justice system is shocking . The victims and families even after everything have so many rules to abide by pre court and during the trial its almost like a second punishment for them 🤬

Thank God that one of the families address when the defense said that “no one’s had to go through what we have” IN FRONT OF THE FAMILIES. they are very brave and so respectful. may justice be served.

I feel bad for the man he could have been if he hadn’t committed such atrocities. Each of the families have fought back the ugly with strength and love.

HOWEVER, I am trying not to fall into the trap of feeling sorry for him. He took it upon himself to commit those acts. Everything that is coming to him is deserved.

This woman is amazing and right on point. After all this injustice to have a juror vote to not give him the death penalty says a lot about how awful our society has become.

I'm not a lawyer, so correct me if I'm wrong. When a jury is being selected, the prosecutor asks each person they're considering to place on the jury, some questions, and one is bound to be, "If your vote was the deciding vote, are you capable of giving someone the death penalty?" And I assume that each person who was picked to be on the jury was asked this and said, "Yes." Am I correct or not?

Sometimes i find it hard to understand why young adults choose to not only ruin other peoples lives but also ruining their own life by getting themselves into jail/prison especially from crimes like these
