WHAT IS THE PHASE SETTING ON AN AMPLIFIER?

The Phase Setting on an amplifier is important for balanced air pressure in your vehicle. You see builds all the time with both inverted and standard mount subs in the same space. Depending on how your subs are mounted, you want to manage the air pressure that comes from your subwoofers and prevent it from building in your space.
In this video, JP gives us an explanation on why the phase setting on an amplifier is important.

I don't know why i never thought of utilizing the phase control on an amplifier with mixed subwoofer mounting. I gave myself the brain ache of wiring them different so the phasing would be correct on all 4.

I only use that when I am using 2 or more subs. But I never use it on a single sub.

If you have door woofers running on a head unit this control will allow you to phase it to the subs, it will produce a more solid sound than 180 out. So I respectfully disagree that it doesn't matter which way its set, you can simply hear it.

Phase is to match your main speakers to your sub, distance player a big part. Also ported vs sealed player part.

Couldn't you just wire the two subs upside down, backwards. (Reverse polarity)? That's what I always did

So if U have 2 r inverted an a 2 r standard mount with out using the phase controller.. your subs r more or less canceling each other out ..

Not only that if you have two amplifiers that are the same what say you have 1 amp on one set of woofers and another amp on the other set of offers and they're both faced the same way some amplifiers will still not be in the same phase you would see this by hooking them up to a oscilloscope that has more than one channel and you will see they will be out of phase and you adjust the phase on 1:00 amp until they match each other Sam on YouTube barevids shows this in a demonstration
