I use to be a tutor while I was living in China 14 years ago, it was hella good money for easy work.

People are commenting what they don’t know, china also prohibited schools from doing homework’s, homework in China was crazy, the kids of my friend were very tired after they went home from schools, they don’t play, they don’t have hobbies, last time they ask the kids on school what are their hobby’s and 80% answer was, “sleeping”, they finish school at 7 pm and then they had to do homework, that’s crazy, so its good that the government prohibit that, really the amount of work this kids do it’s overwhelming.

I think we should ask whether it is for us (in the west) to impose our views of government and view their governmental policy from our lens? I am not going to delve into the degree of government interference in the lives of people and whether or not it is a good or bad thing. Not going down that rabbit hole.

Personal opinion: Social media restriction is something I agree with for younger people due to its ill-effects on our mental health. Limiting tutors is very interesting. I think the government there should ask whether they can ensure an educational system that can produce the same caliber of students that can compete and excel in a globalized world.

To be honest chinese parents r under greater pressure right now coz parents r asked to spend more time with children and create more activities with their kids but the fact is most parents r busy with work...in some ways those training schools after school actually help parents but now they r gone due to the policy

I actually think the US would benefit from similar academic policies that maybe aren’t so harsh but even the playing field for less affluent students

100% support chinese government, 3 hours gaming per week is still too much, if you add up gaming + tv+ phone, that's stilla lot! A lot of chinese parents I know totally lost control of their own kids, someone should step in. my mom's class has 3 kids regularly not coming to school and playing games at home. Past few weeks they showed up because they have nothing to do at home

I would like to share my experience with a Lebanon guy.
Well we met through social media. We became friends. One day he video called and we talked shared about our cultures and food etc. After the call ended he sent a nude girl pic and I question what was that . He then told me to send my nude pic posing like that girl. I was shocked and dismay for I never expected him to say that to me . So i ended our friendship and blocked him.

Banning stuff is easy but will worsen the situation, not improve it. If effort is put in fixing the underlying causes of addiction, none of these measures would be needed.

Not sure decisions made by China is right or wrong I'll tell you my reasoning if I were to make the same decisions. Keep in mind I have no clue when being a leader of a country.

I'm looking at it as a real-time strategy war game. There has to be a balance of different types of units in the game to advance towards victory. There needs to be he balance between units to help claim resources and units to harvest resources. This will help keep things in the economic balance.

So I believe the keywords here are economy, balance and another word I have not mentioned is the goal which is prosperity.

I knew about the private institutions on tutoring but I hard in someone post that they are also banning english particular tutors and wow I thouth it was only for big institutions or direct teacher of the school that give outside tutors hours
