I remember this movie and was thankful my father married my mom and brought her to America because I’m protected with the law on my side. My biggest blessing is my son doesn’t have to be around toxic environment today.

My English teacher showed this movie in class. The part where she emerges in pure white, ready for being stoned is one of the most haunting scenes I have ever seen.

It’s so sad how some groups have bastardized a whole culture. I could never understand how it would be OK for a woman to be stoned to death for the rumor of messing with another guy after being in a abusive relationship but it’s OK for that same abusive guy to go and marry a teenager.

So if cheating happens, only woman gets stoned while the cheating man runs off and probably cheats again? This is awful. Even if they were to stone someone, shouldn't they stone both parties? It's unfortunate that Ali's sons will be abusive toward women also. It's so sad that the oldest son can't see the truth of his own father. His mom gave birth to him and this is how he repaid her.

This reminds me of King Henry VIII. Accused his second wife of infidelity because he couldn't divorce her (due to already divorcing his first wife) and had her executed. All because she hadn't given birth to a son yet. Jokes on him though, because the daughter the wife had given birth to grew up to be Queen Elizabeth I.
