In the US if you're convicted with a criminal felony you're not eligible to run for office. Period! However, if an appellate court or ultimately the Supreme Court vacated the conviction, your criminal conviction is expunged and you're eligible. Philippines has the same law. Do the Philippine courts abide in the rule of law?

BBM and clan enjoy now the loot of thy father's labor. Yes Marcos Sr is eloquent with his speeches, intelligent. He should have been the likes of Lee Kuan Yew had he used those to the advantage of his country. But he suppressed the people's rights, killings and human rights abuses, corruption, bankrupted the country and boosted the communist insurgency. During the last days of Marcos Sr administration, in Lee Kuan Yew's account, the Philippines has $25B in debt and already lent $8B. He sent Bobby Ongpin to Singapore to borrow more $300-500M just to pay the interest of the Philippine huge debt. This time LKY disagreed because he knew Marcos was corrupt and seriously ill (link below). His last days was chaos because of ruined economy, million people (OFW'S) already fled the country to look for job elsewhere since early 70's which for the first time started in Marcos time, until he was deposed. And there's the account of Primitivo Mijares, Marcos chief propagandist of fake news, of the first 10 years of Marcos rule until he defected to the US, report to the US congressional committee, published "Conjugal Dictatorship" (link below) in 1976, abducted and vanished. Marcos Sr is a fake hero if you wanna know the truth:

FOR THIS HE WAS ALMOST JAILED BY THE AMERICAN COMMANDER IF NOT FOR THE INTERVENTION OF GEN ROXAS. SO IN ALL OF THESE HE WAS A WAR CLAIM HUSTLER JUST LIKE HOW HE WON THE PRESIDENCY, JUST LIKE HE WAS THE MASTER HUSTLER OF WHOLESALE CORRUPTION THAT FEATURED HIM IN THE GUINNES WORLD RECORD
