How to find your style! :)

The freedom of choosing what you truly like at the thrift store VS being pushed into trends buying at retail is so real. I'm a fashion student and I'm so glad thrift stores are letting more people experiment with their self expression outside of what big corps and marketing departments are force feeding us. The charts for colors and body types are somewhat helpful, but you dont have to follow those either, its more of a guide to say like “hey this may not look good on some people, but it does on you, or maybe these shades suit you more”. Yknow? Like use them to realize there are different clothes shapes because there are different body shapes. Or like hey try these dif color palettes see which one you like more, maybe youll discover something. It just comes down to what you find yourself most confident in. Like it doesnt matter if you’re technically a cool summer, if you like warm winter colors more or whatever the names are, yknow? Or like cheetah print brown isnt my color but i wanna wear it anyways, like yeah it literally doesnt matter, slay. Just saying this because during a lot of peoples glow up makeover things, they fall into obsessing over these categories rather than noticing what they like better on themselves. Theyre good for experimenting, and like a guide at first, but theyre not rules set in stone. Just to emphasize that part of the vid :3

for me personally i don’t like the whole color analysis thing. i’ve never had one officially done, which is probably better for me, but my “colors” are supposed to be darker and more neutral. i completely disagree, and feel like trying to be neutral hides so much of the personality i’m trying to express with my fashion, defeating the entire purpose of dressing up. your colors should be up to you, and you absolutely shouldn’t feel restricted by color analysis and things like that.
