NOTE: This video was published before 48GB DDR5 memory modules were available - according to the ASUS specs page, this motherboard now supports up to 192GB of RAM with 4x 48GB DDR5 memory modules. In addition, Intel's 14th Gen "Raptor Lake Refresh" processors are now supported by this motherboard with a BIOS update.

Maybe this will help some USA customers: I couldn't get my 2.5Ghz Intel ethernet adapter to work at all, so I contacted Asus support. Rep told me to return the board, that the adapter was bad. Mistake! Turns out the adapter is simply not compatible with most of the current modems supplied by AT&T and some other providers. When I got a replacement and it still wouldn't work, I contacted AT&T, they acknowledged the compatability issue, and quickly sent out a new modem/router. Otherwise I think this is a good board.

It's curious that there was no answer to question about the board having a CMOS battery. No one, not even the manual, is mentioning this.

Great review and i just got this board. Any idea if the ram slots will support 48gb×2 kit ram kits?

This is probably a stupid question but what's the point of the DisplayPort-in ports to Thunderbolt 4 ports? What is it actually doing? Is it just converting DisplayPort to Thunderbolt 4? Why not just plug the graphics card directly into the color accurate monitor without sending it through the motherboard? (As you might be able to tell, I've never owned a color accurate monitor so maybe this isn't possible, I don't know.)

Curious if anyone else has ran into this. I build my new rig yesterday, spent 12 hours on it only because it kept getting stuck on the green light and wouldn’t post to BIOS screen. The board would keep going through its normal boot cycle(red, orange, white) then got stuck on green and no display on the monitor. Monitor would show its getting signal, but no display. Tried different monitors, HDMI&DP cables. Even tried onboard graphics while disconnecting the GPU. Rebuilt the entire PC 3 times just to be sure things were built correctly. Still nothing changed. Tried booting with 1 stick of ram, nothing. Tried booting without M.2, nothing. Even tried booting with a M.2 with windows already installed, nothing. Did BIOS flashback update. Nothing. Spoke with ASUS and they were dumb founded.
Parts are as follows:

Intel i7 13700k
ASUS Strix 3070
ASUS ProArt Z790-Creator Wifi:
NZXT Kraken Z53
G. Skill Trident Z RGB DDR5 64GB
WD_BLACK 2TB SN850X SSD
Lian Li SL120 V2 fans
Silverstone SX1000 PSU

10:26 Incorrect. You don't "need to". As shown at
10:54 A in clear English: if no displayport cables are connected, then only USB Type C-1 has output using the standard DisplayPort 1.4 capabitilies of the integrated graphics of the used CPU.
Which means for example a 13900K can run 4 x 4K video @ 60 Hz over Thunderbolt.
No need for a videocard at all.

9:30 you said HDMI 2.1 only does 4k 60 fps but doesn't that support 120 or am I wrong?

Can you let me know if the motherboard exhibits any coil whine? Either under load or maybe a faint buzzing which modulates in the background with system activity and present most if not all the time (can be caused by c-states).

Can maybe someone run Aida64 copy memory test and latency/ Prime95, Cinebench r23 to see if any of those induce coil whine?

I have Gigabyte Z790 Master, which is a fabulous board but has coil whine as described and i read that Asus Maximus Hero is the same... so how is it with ProArt?

Many thanks

CPU offers 20 PCIe lanes. BUT. 16 for GPU. 16 for 4x NVMe's. 4 for 10Gbe. A video and audio capture card. Not a creators motherboard.

silly question, do we need an optical drive with this board?

Not very costly as far as features are concerned. Please make blogs on Intel Graphic cards. Thanks.

Very problematic motherboard without UHD 770 iGPU support i9-13900T (BIOS 1203 and 1801). The ASUS support not helpful at all (RAM & NVMe SSD from the supported list - kingstone)
