I love it when hockey coaches say sleep is really important. Then they schedule a Friday night power skate at 9:00 pm followed by an 8:30 game Saturday morning. “Don’t forget, be there an hour early!”

Curious, is the “playing other sports” part under the assumption that hockey isn’t year round? My son is in the ice four days a week, 45 weeks out of the year. Unless there’s a way to make 40 hour days and 10 day weeks, it isn’t possible. Does Esports for a couple hours a week count?😂

Personally I would omit that part and substitute- You must love it! Not just the games, the goals, and the girls. You have to love the process. The gym isn’t daunting, the practice isn’t a burden, and the bag of chips isn’t as tempting when you’re pursuing something you truly love. I’d put Love the Process #1. It makes 2-4 far more achievable.

Sincerely,
Just some guy in the comments that nobody asked.

Why would you play other sports? As a hockey player if I break my ankle playing football or basketball it would seem like a pretty dumb thing to happen.

My brother was great at hockey. He also played football. He was paralyzed during a brutal tackle and is quadriplegic. Now he plays nothing. He even said, that he always wanted to just be a hockey player, but he felt pressured to play football. Now, he suffers depression and wishes he would die. 😢
