Turkish sharpshooter Yusuf Dikec wins silver at Paris Olympics with minimal gear

Yusuf Dikeç, who won the silver medal for Turkey with Şevval İlayda Tarhan in the 10-meter air pistol mixed team competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, returned home.
Arriving at Istanbul Airport on a Turkish Airlines flight from Paris, the capital of France, Dikeç and his teammates were welcomed by officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and young athletes.
Yusuf Dikeç, who made statements to the press members, stated that his 24 years of work paid off and said, "We are very happy to bring our country the first Olympic medal in shooting in the history of the Republic. We went to the Olympics with the prayers of 85 million people who supported us. We did not return empty-handed. Actually, our intention was to get a gold medal. We prepared very well, we came first in the World Cup in Brazil in February. A month ago we came first again in the competition in Germany. Luck was not on our side here. The fact that we made it to the final with a record showed that we were a good team. Despite all these misfortunes, we still won a silver medal for our country."
Yusuf Dikeç, who did not prefer equipment such as lenses, eyelids or ear protection in the competitions and became the most talked about name of Paris 2024 on social media with his stance during the shooting, used the following statements:

"We may look comfortable on the surface, but inside we are storming. Our hearts feel like bursting. We try not to make you feel it. I can't get too comfortable with the equipment because I throw with both eyes open. One needs to bring one's own talent to the forefront. We are happy and motivated by the world press talking about it. I didn't expect it to be this much. I was surprised. I got the quota a little late this year. I was in the top 5 or 7 in 2024. We got a medal after the quota. We got this medal on behalf of 85 million people, on behalf of Turkey. This is a teamwork. Like theater, everyone has a role. When you play your role well, something beautiful comes out in the end. We did our best and it was a success."
Stating that he participated in the Olympics for the 5th time and believes that he has represented Turkey in the best way for 24 years, national shooter Dikeç said, "Our next target is the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. I told my friend Damir, who came first, 'We entrust the gold to you, we will get it back in 2028.' He laughed. We will get the gold medal in 2028 and then, God willing, I think it is time to quit."

I've been saying the same thing about the equipment everyone else was using. Regular glasses for vision is one thing, but the weird looking aim assist glasses should not be allowed. They may not be performance enhancement drugs, but they are performance enhancement equipment.
