This was from the very first episode of SNL for Dana Carvey, Jan Hooks and Phil Hartman. The Church Chat sketch was going to be at the end of the show but it got so many laughs in rehearsal that they made it the opening sketch. Dana had created the Church Lady in his stand-up act but the concept of the Church Chat show was created with SNL's writers.
