The fabric I use is Robert Kaufman Kona Cotton Fabric. It is very good quality neat even weave (plain weave) cotton fabric with a variety of colors. The price range is around $5 ~ $7 per yard (the cheapest, safe, and good website as far as I know, I ordered my fabrics from this website).

Another great technique and precious tips. While you made a small stitch below the eyebrows to secure the long satin stitch, it seemed you didn’t do the same on the long stitches below the nose. Any particular reason?

Hi thank you for your video!! I have a question/concern.

1. So if I used less strands, will it be easier to sew? Ex.) I used a higher strand count and tried to get it flat as possible but it didn’t work and it was too loose, so it would always lift up. If something poked it the thread would come out, ruining the whole embroidery. Then I tried the Split stitch and it was ok but not the best result😭

I’ve been trying to embroider a very small motif onto a t shirt and this method is making my stitching look so much better and professional! The only problem is that my fabric is a bit stretchy and I don’t think I am stitching across the grain and so, like you said, the design is warping a bit narrower but I am trying to avoid this by not pulling the thread too tight and adding tiny stitches to reinforce the long satin stitches.
