France! Storm, hail and flood hit Mayenne!

Storms hit Mayenne again this Friday, May 20, 2022. First in the South, before impacting several places in the department.
This Friday, May 20, 2022, early in the morning, the storm again caused damage in Mayenne. Fifteen rescue centers took part in the various operations, i.e. approximately 100 firefighters. During the morning, more than 107 interventions were counted.
The storm then moved towards Meslay-du-Maine, where a tree fell on a car. In the same area, hail and mudslides made traffic difficult. The ceiling collapsed at the Bignon-du-Maine primary school.
Around 9:30 a.m., at a place called Montabay in Sainte-Gemmes-le-Robert, a mudslide spread from a field, over about twenty meters and invaded the road and the courtyard of the house located at a place called Lower Ford Morin. The mud entered the house over a meter. The yard is flooded with a 10 cm layer of mud.
According to , Météo France forecaster for the Pays de la Loire: “The important event is the intensity of the precipitation, which is currently continuing in Sarthe elsewhere. This happened mainly in the southern half of the department. For example, 30 to 40 mm of precipitation was observed in one hour in the municipalities of Marigné-Peuton, Laigné, Chérancé or Pommerieux. There was also intense electrical activity with a lot of lightning, but that has yet to be measured precisely.
