Do be aware that though the prices maybe a lot less with a grey market dealer the watch may no-longer be covered by the manufacturer warranty which are usually 2/3 years up to 5 years, hence part of the price difference.

If purchasing a quartz watch that has been in storage for a few years the battery life may be reduced and if outside of the warranty could cost you the difference in getting a replacement battery and the watch re-water sealed if returned to the manufacturer. Alternatively you can find many reputable watch repairers who will replace the battery, reseal and pressure test the watch from as little as £15 up to roughly £35 or the equivalent in $ and €.

It is a different story if you have a problem with an automatic movement if there is no manufacturer warranty left, you could be looking at a minimum of £150 in servicing, resealing, testing and possibly more if any other repair is needed.
