Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Kara, you missed your chance to try a hotdog again. Denmark has very high food standards. You wouldn’t have gotten a better quality hotdog anywhere else.

There’s a porridge place like that at my local farmers market. They do poached apples, pears, with caramel sauces or maple, with roasted nuts and yoghurt or cream. so nice on cold mornings

From a local:
I really like your style of presenting, and your kind words! :)
PS: Please come back in summertime ─ the city & citizens are twice as nice ☀️

For peoples information, cafés and streetfood places in Denmark are pretty exspensive, compared to alot of "normal" resturants here :)

I live in Copenhagen and actually never tried the food from any of these places - but you definitely inspired me to try them :D
I will say though... Try smørrebrød from small shops or even some of the supermarkets, not the really expensive restaurants, 'cause they are more authentic to what we Danes would actually eat :)
Great video!

You should go in the summer. It's truly a different country and town in the summer.

You all are so entertaining! Sometimes I’m scared for you, sometimes I’m joyous with you, sometimes I can almost taste the food with you...but always, I love to travel with you! (And you’re both cute as a button)

Copenhagen is crazy expensive.
Especially all the hipster places.

You should try more old-fashioned food, outside of Copenhagen.
There are many taverns/tavern-like places that has affordable really good traditional Danish food.
200 kr. would cover a 2 or 3 course meal in many places.

If you visit the west coast of Denmark there are many options, and you can experience the unique beaches, nature and weather.
But remember to dress appropriately.

Many Germans love it, and keep coming back year after year.

2:53 This Legendary man is: Kim Larsen he is the best musician in Denmark's history. And is loved by 99% of Denmark. A true inspiration. He sadly passed away (September, 30 2018)
He made songs such as: Papirsklip and Midt Om Natten. We still every night, at least when people go out. Sing his songs till the early morning.

watching this makes my stomach all warm and hungry for food.... its a great way to connect with the local food culture. watching this on anniversary and memory of Anthony Bourdain. you guys would make him proud. "If I'm an advocate for anything, it's to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. The extent to which you can walk in someone else's shoes or at least eat their food, it's a plus for everybody" Anthony Bourdain

We are from Copenhagen and used to live there, until we finally got enough of the insane prices. Eating out in Copenhagen is so ridiculously expensive that even a low budget restaurant comes across as pricey. It’s a shame really becuase there is a lot of great food and restaurants, but as a tourist visiting it has got to be a big turn-off!
