2023 KTM 300SX vs 2023 Husqvarna TX300 back to back on an old school GP track! Back to Back rides are a great way to get a feel for the unique characteristics of different bikes. I did take lap times but my main focus on this back to back was the suspension feel. This '23 300SX belongs to my buddy Dave and has been set up by Brad at Rideworx suspension and the bike has WP6500 spring kit (0.48 springs), KTM Hard Parts split triple clamps, WP Bladder kit and low friction piston band on the rear shock (stock 4.5 spring and valving). These bikes feel different when ridden back to back. Comments for each bike....

2023 Husky TX300: Lap Time 2:11.6
I am impressed how plush the TX300 feels on the dry choppy parts of the track. I set the bike up with basically "Comfort" setting (Front: 9.6 bar, C18 R24. Rear C18 R18 HSC 2.25) and it worked great on this old school MX track.

2023 KTM 300SX: Lap Time 2:13.5
WP6500 forks are instantly noticeable with a plush and planted feel. I have ridden a few sets of WP6500's on 250/350 KTM/GG models all set up by Brad at Rideworx and they have all worked so well - plush and absorbing with excellent bottoming resistance.

Summary:
The stock TX300 suspension exceeded my expectations. Plush on the little chop (something that can be a weakness on AER forks) with a compliant overall feel to the suspension and chassis. I will get this bike in the woods soon. The WP6500 kit on the 300SX is noticeable with that classic spring fork connected to the ground feel. The rear shock changes on the 300SX are more subtle. More of these back to back rides soon!

I just purchased the 2023 TX 300. I would have to agree that the stock suspension and Chassis work incredibly well together. Only 1.8 hours on it, but I'm confident enough in it to line up this weekend for our local Harescramble! I am always amazed at the development of these bikes year over year.

Do you have to bleed or adjust air forks or shocks every ride? I don’t know what I have to do with it I’ve never had air suspension
