If you mix Beethoven with Liszt you have this. Although it is more Beethoven than Liszt still. It is a typical piece without any awesome theme but that saves itself along the way as competent composition, principally because the end is abundant and dedicated It goes from simple ideas to simple ideas, but the whole is then stll better than its parts. One can also still hear the piece comming from a single piano wtih two hands, in this sense there is parts that have nothing with Wagner to do. Whats makes the difference there is that you can already hear Wagner going towards something else more wagnerian, but very discretely.

The beginning is maybe not that much for you, but this means how composers started to see the "sound as sound" and hold the audience with unclear musical relationships due to the amount of time you have between then; if you put silence between chords, they tend to loose the initial function. Nothing that Haydn did not do, but at this time I think they started to consider more the beauty of isolated sounds without evident relation to the melody or even harmony. And  this insistent figure for example 4:24 of the violins can be considered so bold and new as some clusters we hearded for the first time years ago. The line has nothing agains the rules, but the actual orchestral result is very dissonant and sharp. You could substitue this part today with a cluster variation of the same figure, playing all notes togheter, and it would sound similar.

Today we have trailler compositions, yesterday we had opera ouvertures....
