This is the second in a new series I am doing. I thought it might be interesting to show a few of the other DIY projects I do along side my model boats, so here we are.

My first big resin project. I am going to make a coffee table for my living room from a slab of olive wood and epoxy. In this video I cover the final pours, planing the table flat, sanding, polishing, adding the legs and finishing.

List of components used:

- Polish:

- Olive Wood Slab. I bought this off eBay, plenty of choice on there and the advantage of buying this way is you can see the exact slab you get.

- Boiled Linseed Oil: You can get this from any decent hardware store.

- Briwax:

- Mould Sides:

- Mould Bottom:

- Silicone:

- Mould Release Tape:

- Measuring Cups:

- Paint Mixer:

- Isopropyl Alcohol for cleaning and removing bubbles.

Music (with thanks):
- Checkmate: Nathan Moore
- Fresh Fallen Snow: Chris Haugen

Looks good I’m going to try one myself, one thing if you want to get the epoxy back to ultra clear, wet sand it with 3000 wet and dry with a sander then polish start with same make as you used but their 400 with a microfibre cutting pad then 2200 then 3800 and see if you can use a proper da polisher rather than a sander it will make a huge difference.

This car polish, we can apply it on wood as well? As you are doing i have this question its on bare wood or the wood part has thin resin layer over that is why you applied over it ..

That clear epoxy’s amazing. Shame you spoiled it with a scrap of wood that didn’t even have straight edges. Just kidding: The table is stunning. You motivated me to use olive wood live edge for my next table.
