Exciting times ahead
After much time and effort from the team @ 31 Digital Season 2 is now playing to Brisbane audiences and the feedback received so far is most encouraging and appreciated. I’m told DVDs will be available soon.
Something else NEW has also taken place, OFF AIR, for those of you that were not aware I am a fortnightly contributor to Australian Wood Review online mag offering tips and insights into woodworking techniques that have worked for me over the years. As of last week videos have taken the place of words and pictures, for the same purpose. The 1st video posted is on Ebonizing timber. A facility for Q&A is under the video presentation so please use it if you want to know more on the subject.
Thanks to the help, support, encouragement and enthusiasm of all the staff @ Domain World We are now one step closer to launching the Woodworking Masterclass e-Workshop.
This year started with and bang and is shaping up for one heck of a blast at the end.
Season 3 of Woodworking Masterclass is also under way.
We’ll keep you posted. Steve

If you do a large slab, do you have to pass it through the kiln afterward?

Great tip Steve.

Could you give us some tips about squares. Clearly, just about everything starts with getting everything square, but how do you make sure that your square is indeed square.

I have several squares in my tool kit but none of them are square to each other. I have seen methods for checking squares but nothing about correcting them.

Do you have any advice and/or tips that you can offer

Cheers
Mick

Does this hold an advantage over using a stain? Seems like a lot of trouble when one could use a black stain, or black wax? Enjoying your videos, thanks.

This project is awesome!, Also, after going through Wooody Hyezmar's site and seeing some cool plans from his book, I was surprised you could download them.

Great tip Steve. Question about the depth of the reaction: Does it soak in and ebonize the stock quite deeply? Should you be doing the ebonizing process on your shaped and sized stock, or can you shape this afterword a little bit without exposing the natural colour underneath? Looks like a great way to simulate ebony plugs and splines to use in a greene and greene style piece, but should the plugs and splines be cut to size and shape first? I'm now subscribed.

Thank you, great to see an Aussie on You Tube. I loved watching your show on Ch31 in Victoria. How long does the 'solution' last in storage? Do you have to soak the timber or can it be brushed on? Cheers
