Do you know the differences between DNA and RNA?

Let’s start with the name first, DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid while RNA stands for ribonucleic acid.

The main difference is that DNA’s sugar molecule has one less oxygen atom, hence, deoxy.

They also differ in their structure. DNA, as you probably know, is double-stranded while RNA is typically single-stranded.

Lastly, they differ in function. DNA is your genetic blueprint. It contains all of the information about how to make you. RNA copies sections of that blueprint and shares it with your cells.
