I wish there was an indication of how big a file the export setting one selects will give. It would be useful to know before committing to what may be a very big export file size.

Hi. Anyone knows how to insert my own metadata in the video (copyright)? Could it be in the properties field? The data in this field look like technical guidelines ones for the Shotcut...
Or in another field? Thanks in advance.

how about if you want to export for shorts or instagram ?

So when you save an export at, lets say, 1080p vs 4k the process differs... now if you have a high end pc/laptop, would the process be quicker or still the same?

How do you trim your Video track 2 to line up with the others?

the thing is i will always set my quality at 100% since i always delete video files after i upload them because i can re-download them back always lol

so when I chose 100% it won't play after it's done and the file size it ridiculously large, the edited video will be several times larger than the source video despite being shorter. I read in the forums that the quality percentage settings are misleading and anything over 70% is not really doing anything but making the file size larger.

I am new to editing so the higher the quality is the more space my video file takes so if I put the video to 85 percent quality it will be a very big file

So can I just put my video to 70 is that good?

i wanna export a 40 mins video, it says that it will take 11-18 hours, will this help?

If I keep quality at 55%, I get 3GB for a 3min video! With 40% I get 300MB for 3min, still quite heavy and still quite high quality. 30% gets me a 200MB file for 3min, the loss of quality is very noticeable but acceptable.

I don't know why the tutorial says to get the quality to 85%, it must give an insane file size ...

Great video! In my case, if I set the 'Quality' under the 'Codec' tab to 100%, exporting fails. Setting it down to 99% works.

To explain progressive and interlaced (2:40), progressive is what we see now, its the "p" in "1080p" or "1440p". Progressive is where every single frame is being replaced completely by the next frame. Its probably how you know video to be made, assuming you know how video is made. The entire first picture is cleared before the second one comes in.
Then there's interlaced, which is the old format, where "p" would be replaced with "i", so "1080i" or "1440i" (assuming those exist). This is quite different from progressive. Instead of replacing the entire frame for each frame, only half of the frame is replaced each time. Lets say a frame is cut horizontally into 10 pieces, interlaced would display the whole first frame, then replace the odd pieces for the second frame and leaving the even pieces the same as the first frame, then the third frame would replace the first frames image with the third frame (the even pieces now). You are essentially fully refreshing the frame every other frame by only putting half of the next frame in each time.

TLDR: progressive refreshes the frame every frame, interlaced refreshes the frame completely only once every other frame

Thanks a lot. I apply these settings, but when I upload a video the quality drops.
