I had to pay over $300 for an imported SNES in late 1990. I was one of the first getting it in Sweden. $40000 is crazy, even though it's before official launch date.

I'm only going to buy a Switch 2 when the first exclusive game I REALLY want to play comes out for it. Most likely if it's the next Fire Emblem or Splatoon 4.

I was kinda hoping the 2 would be compatible with the current pro controllers. I doubted it, but it would have been nice. I'm starting to get tired of buying a console just to play first party Nintendo games.
