Is income inequality our biggest social problem? If we take more from the rich and give more to the poor, can we solve it? Joshua Rauh, professor of finance at Stanford and Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, addresses these questions in this challenging video.

Winston Churchill "We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle?"

A tax should only be legal if it ends with a physical tangible good for society, like a bridge, a road, a culvert, W/S infrastructure.

In order to have true equality you will create the scenario for inequality for example: twin brothers, one choose a simple life of minimum wage and calm and easy responsibility, the other start with 2 jobs minimizing free time in Exchange for higher salary so he can invest in better education, 20 years later the brother that made the effort to work more will have more and this result isnt evil, just a natural result of true equality.

Don't simply retire from something; have something to retire to. Start saving, keep saving, and stick to investments. Everyone should have BTC in their portfolio🌲.

Why try harder to better yourself when there is no reward at the end? When everyone makes the same amount of money, why invent anything, you're not going to get anything extra, just have to work harder and get no compensation for it.

My wife astonished me when she said that in Ukraine, bank lawyers were leaving their job as lawyers and going to work as bank cleaners because their pay was the same! This was some time ago, when they still had the soviet economic model.
No wonder the Soviet Union collapsed!

We certainly can. Everyone will be equally poor and the government will be the unequal power over us all. Stop this madness before it's too late.

A big problem is that many leftists when they talk about are talking about equality of 9utcome not equality of opportunity. There is a big difference.

Some people want wealth so that they can be more productive and some people want wealth so they can be less productive. When someone proposes a tax policy that doesn't distinguish between the two they aren't trying to fix anything, they are just expressing envy.

You can never tax your way into prosperity…. History proves that!

Supporters of income redistribution by taxation will always set what makes 'the rich' 'rich' just outside of what they are ever likely to earn. If they go through that, they'll raise it, because they're only rich, not part of the super-rich.
