Typhoon devastates Philippines islands - BBC News

Typhoon Goni has caused destruction and flooding in the north-east of the Philippines, killing at least 16 people.

There are fears that in some areas as many as 90% of homes may have been damaged.

Goni has since slowed down to a tropical storm.

Thankfully we escaped the worst of the the time it reached us it had weakened but was still a little scary. It's hard to explain to my family in the UK just what a Typhoon is though I have experienced many.
