I will say that as a primary solo player who occasionally does the odd verteran flashpoint with friends, this gearing system feels like the least rewarding systems with a VERY unpleasant grind. At this point, I'm really only playing to complete my season then maybe knock around on a few alts. Since I honestly "don't need" the higher gear, then I'll just hit max level, get my 320 gear and be done with it. Very unhappy with what they've done to gearing this "expansion."

I cheered at 4:25 when the spaghetti graphic made its wonderful official debut. Thank you for making it :)

I’m primarily a pve player, but I will occassionally do other content. However, I’m not liking the fact that I have to stop wearing my modifiable armor and go back to armor with stats again just to upgrade my armor rating. In my opinion it would be better to make higher mods, armorring and enhancements than it is to make players wear armor with stats already attached.

I did the hardest content several times in the game, maxed my gear, got golden gear and upgraded my sets, I am so happy my sets are now worthless because they decided upgrading gear is now not viable and I am thrilled to see a lvl 80 in full green be higher gearscore than me, perfect.

As someone who started playing last expansion, I just got to start playing operations, mostly everyone I was playing with were veterans and wanted to teach me because I was pretty good for a new player, 22k parse all the good fun stuff. I logged back on when the expansion released and everyone is taking a break from the game, they didn't like how grindy and micromanaged the game has become. With other games like eldin ring, escape from tarkov, swotr has become more of a paid second job. I just find it easier last patch to level multiple characters. 50–80-hour grind to get the best gear on one character is brutal especially if you have 3 or 4 alts.

It has to be said - GSF suffers a lot from idle leeching on my server atm - ironically as much as it suffered from the first round of Galactic Seasons.
But it's true - GSF is the fastest way for especially solo players to get upgraded IR numbers. PVP gear seems to have less endurance and more mastery/power stat points than Decurion stuff

I'm about half way thru your video & nothing about gearing sounds fun.
Thanks for making it.

I dropped swtor since the expansion, but still enjoy your videos. Will probably be back next year when more content will be available and catch-up mechanics on gear implemented. Really disliked the ability pruning, the gear change, the almost non-existing story. I feel all new MMO's want to become grindy mobile games for retention metrics, yet all they do is push people away. Oh well, keep up the great vids. Cheers!

While confusing at first as a returning player, now that i have my main in 326 Purple Thyrsian gear, it's really nice to gear alts quickly. I don't really have a guild that does operations as i just returned to the game, but I've been able to get all my Master Mode Flashpoint weeklies done each week, and you can use that 326 gear on alts. I also have a set of 324 gear that i use to fish for specific pieces when I'm opening the PvP boxes.

Neither the premise, the look or the execution of this gearing system attracts or entices me to give a hoot.
I miss augments, i miss gear set bonuses. perhaps its the old wow mentality but it made working on your equipment more concise to the goal you wanted to achieve instead of climbing item level rankings.

Edit: that said. good video.

I will add, for those like me, people who have had the game since the beginning playing on and off since, 7.0 was a bit confusing. I appreciate the time you put into videos, without I’d probably go mad. Simple things like class quests and figuring out where you are can be rough. I have a Sith Assassin/Sorcerer who just completed chapter 3 in the class quest. It seems that is the only character who has completed their class quests. Even the one level 80 I have hasn’t completed the class quests.

My level 80 has 10 or more companions, but the Sith only had 3 companions for the longest time. So color me confused.

I also don’t get some of the rotations I have found around the web, but it made it more confusing.

Thanks (as always) for the very clear and helpful video. Unfortunately it just confirms my hunch that I'm not going to bother upgrading any of my gear from 306... not worth the hassle anymore... I guess I'll take the easy to acquire 320 but that's it, not upgrading anything or paying attention to this crazy currency system.

grind.. grind... grind... oh did I mention Grind? This has become a step backwards... back to when we had Aim for troopers, Wisdom for Sages... Strength for Jedi... and Cunning for Smugglers... Hopefully they realize and makes some changes. It is still fun to storyline but requires too much time to stay maxed out..
