Grounding/Earthing: Grounding Rod Outside VS Using An Outlet? [EMF Circle Preview]

In the latest “Grounding Masterclass” we did with the EMF Circle about 2 weeks ago, co-host and EMF mitigation expert Brian Hoyer went deep explaining the ins and outs of grounding/earthing – both inside the home, and outside in nature (the best and safest way to do it, to put it simply).

Someone asked: “Is it better to use the 3rd prong of an outlet when using a grounding mat, or should I use a grounding rod outside my home instead?”

*Brian’s answer surprised me.*

This masterclass was PACKED with information that I’ve personally never heard of in 7 years of studying EMFs and EMF mitigation full time. I still learn from Brian every single time we chat… even after all these years!

There seems to be two camps around grounding. One says just ground and that it's ok to be the ground conduit; the other warns about you being the conduit and resorts to shielding the ground cables.

What do you think about PureGround and what Dr. Koniver says?

You’ll have to have an engineering background to understand this. There are a lot of things to consider when grounding, impedance, potential differential, etc.
You’ll have to understand ground loops also. Similar to when you get unwanted noise in audio equipment. Most audio equipment comes usually with a three prong cable. So if I connect my guitar to my speaker alone I won’t get noise because it’s grounded. If I connect my guitar to the PA system I’ll be ok too. This is when ground loops happen, splitting the signal from my guitar in two, to my speaker and ALSO sending signal to the PA system. Both systems are grounded and creates a potential difference between the two, therefore creating unwanted noise. So the solution for that would be a ground lift switch for the input channel, which most PA system have nowadays. This create a common ground. Even though I still don’t like it, the best option is to have a common ground, ground your paint to the house ground, do not create another source like adding a stick to the ground.

Please help. I have my grounding mat plugged in the same outlet as my lamp, phone charger and alarm clock. Is that bad or should I use a separate outlet just for my mat? I’m so confused

I live in a seconed story apartment. I made a home made canopy around my bed and idk if i should ground it outside theiugh the window or make a DIY outlet plug. Can you tell me exaclty step by step a list of what materials to get at home depot and how to install the ground or outlet and the safest way to go about doing it and where to put it? I'm new to this so it would really mean a lot. Thank you 🙏

Nick and or Brian, if we have a large stake several feet in the ground outside, at least 25 feet away from the electricity coming into the home, attached to the canopy of aaroniaShield around the bed and touching the grounding mat underneath. If the power is OFF in this room at the circuit breaker, is this OK for a grounding situation? Generally speaking?

Is there a way to reach you via email? Because whenever I send a link in the comments it doesn't seem to go through.

In my humble opinion a 10-foot ground rod directly attacked to your bed or want ever is the best way. especially if you have a smart meter on your house.

Ground currents may have been mentioned in the extended version regarding grounding. If there are ground currents present where the electric utility company utilizes the earth as a return to the grid to complete the circuit, wouldn't that potentially create a charging effect instead of a grounding effect? Though electricity flows through the path of least resistance, it is possible for some of that energy to flow into the body when creating an inadvertent circuit. I used to work as a sound technician for a church and they had very bad ground loop issues that would be present in almost all of the monitors on stage and even the main PA drivers. The building was properly grounded, and there were even independent grounds for the equipment, but the ground loop apparently was coming from the ground. Just some food for thought...
