My husband is terminal, "survived" a brief Hospice stay 😊 earlier this year, and then transferred to Palliative Care in order to receive PT and Voice/Swallowing Therapies. Now he is stable enough to be able to travel to see family out of state. As he declines, he will be able to transfer back into Hospice. God bless the Hospice and Palliative team. They are AMAZING at their calling!

I've read everyone diagnosed with cancer should ask their doctors about pallitive care right away even tho many doctors are still squeamish about it because they care about their patients and would rather talk a out treatment plans rather than nausea and pain management because they don't want them to lose hope

Hi Julie, in the UK Palliative care covers end of life care. Whether that is because we don’t have very much Hospice care here I don’t know. What I have experienced as a Death Doula is that Palliative care nurses abilities and knowledge of death and dying is very narrow probably due to cost and time constraints. After years of Conservative (Republican) government cuts in the NHS this does not surprise me. X

I had a patient removed from palliative care because she had been on it for 5 years.

I’m on hospice because my pain clinic wasn’t helping me, , feel I have slipped through the cracks big time

People so want a black and white answer to a gray situation. Life is too complex to give black and white answers.
