Man, I've had soo much fun going through 3 of your videos so far, I love that it feels like we're jamming. Side note, I always said that GnR era Slash only had to bend a single note and you could feel it. It's a shame he's lost in a "more is better" playing style now.

Matthias Jabs (of Scorpions) and Michael Schenker (Scorpions/UFO/MSG) are examples of good guitar players with solo phrasing that always fit the song.

Great video and insights, man. I always think about old Kirk Hammett solos, let's say for instance Creeping Death... it starts like fast and even with a chromatic non-sense rush, but it ends with the chorus rhythm and a very melodic phrasing that we can even sing along...

Great lesson. Thank you. Pink Floyd Shine on YCD solos are awesome. 🤘

This is gold! Among more modern players, Nick Johnston is a master of phrasing and tone. Check out the album Remarkably Human and you're in for a beautiful ride!

bend it, keep bending it until it feels right, thats the rule of thumb

Nice JR. Great video man. I think limiting the notes is going to help me follow the chord progression, as the chords change, as well. Thanks a lot!!!

Also listen to Gary Moore. Especially his pre blues era. Listen to a live version of Empty Rooms. He was a master

Good video, though the solos you mentioned and the playing from the second solo you played (with more intention behind note choice) are only one of many choices, I think the idea of having emotive solos is king no matter what you're doing, but there's so much that can be done with soloing beyond the corner of the Slash, Gilmore, Hotel California stuff, and it's the same corner that the second solo that you played came from.

Anything by Stevie Ray Vaughan. He was the phrasing master.
